Alpha GPC
(Alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine)
Alpha GPC, also known as alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine, is a cholinergic brain supplement that is known to increase the synthesis and secretion of acetylcholine (the brain's messenger neurotransmitter, responsible for sending signals across the corpus callosum and from the brain to the muscles of the body). Alpha GPC has demonstrated a quick absorption time from the gastrointestinal tract and is transported through the bloodstream to all cells and tissues in the body. Alpha GPC crosses the blood-brain barrier readily, directly increasing acetylcholine synthesis and secretion. Derived from soy phospholipids like lecithin (phosphatidylcholine), Alpha GPC is a phospholipid metabolite concentrated in neuronal membranes. Alpha GPC protects neurons and improves transmission of signals by working as a precursor to membrane phospholipids. Alpha GPC Research and Studies
