Picamilon is formed by the synthesis of niacin (Vitamin B-3) with GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid). Picamilon crosses the blood-brain barrier, and only chemicals able to cross this barrier can directly react with the brain. Niacin acts as a strong vasodialator, increasing awareness and activates the GABA receptors, producing an anti-anxiety response. Picamilon is known to be much stronger then either niacin or GABA alone.
